How will this data be used?
The privacy and protection of participants’ identities is a top priority for the research team. All online survey data is collected anonymously. Any identifying information provided (e.g. email address to be entered into the gift card raffle) is stored separately and is not associated with any survey or interview response. We do not ever share data with schools, law enforcement, government agencies, or other organizations.
Members of the research team with access to the survey responses and interview recordings/transcripts have completed a rigorous research ethics training (via CITI) and all data is stored within Stronghold, a secure computing and storage environment hosted at Brown University ensuring that no data is exposed to security risks. Any survey data that is later made publicly available will be stripped of all identifiable information to prevent the identification of any individual survey respondent.
This project has been reviewed and approved by Brown University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB #1802001992).
